Floral designs are timeless and I simply love how easy these vintage floral nails are to achieve! So I thought I'd share with you how you can do the same!
What you will need:
- Base coat
- Top coat
- Base colour - I chose 'Cool Jade' by MaxFactor
- A few different other colours, these can be entirely up to you depending on whatever colour you want your flowers to be! I used 'Victoria' by Nails Inc and 'Foot Loose' by Essie
- A green shade nail polish - I didn't have a green nail polish so I used the closest that I had and that was 'School of Hard Rock' by Essie
- A white nail pen/nail polish - it doesn't really matter but nail pens are easier to use! I picked mine up for a quid from Primark!
Step one:
I always make sure to use a base coat to help protect my nails! I love my Insta-Grip one from Sally Hansen! After all your nails are dry, paint your first colour on top - depending on the nail polish you may need more than one coat!
Step two:
Start with the darker colour and just blob it around the nail making sure to leave space for the leaves. I used about 4/5 for each nail and 3 for the smallest nail.
Step three:
After you have done that, I pressed each blob down with the back of a paint brush to make sure it wasn't such a perfect circular shape.
Step four:
Without letting the first blob colour dry completely I added the next colour on top.
Step five:
And again, without letting the second colour dry completely I added a dot of white to each blob.
Step six:
Do the same as you did in step three and go over each blob with the back of a paintbrush (you can also use the back of rounded pens etc)
Step seven:
Wait for these to dry completely and then just add dabs of the green on both sides of the blob to make the leaves.
Step eight:
Use a cotton swab dipped in nail polish remover to get rid of any polish that has gone over the nail onto the skin and then polish each nail with the top coat (I use Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri which I swear by!) and voila! You are finished with your vintage floral nails! Easy as!
